My Story…

It’s not always been about the food! I started life in the theatre industry, working as a Wardrobe Supervisor for over 10 years. I worked alongside designers and directors and was responsible for realising their creative visions. I had the pleasure of working alongside the best creative teams, seeing shows go into the West End and off Broadway.

Whilst working in theatre I developed my own bespoke bridal label, Arabesque. Initially designed to offer something theatrical for those who wanted a little more drama than the off the peg options. The brand evolved to be far more than this, with every client having very individual styles and needs. I loved working with each and every bride and helping the magic happen for them.

My last 10 years have been spent in the food industry. Our farm diversification of pressing rapeseed oil saw us develop our first brand Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil in 2008, following with the launch of Charlie & Ivy’s in 2014. Alongside us starting a family, I moved away from my theatre roots to work with the business at home. I now head up the marketing team and am responsible for the creative aspects of the brands.

I am passionate about small independent businesses my work in the food industry has lead me to work with other indie brands helping them develop their brand identities. and love working with other makers and creators. My past life in theatre and bridal has certainly formed who I am today and has lead me on my creative journey. It is still very much part of who I am and has gives me the skill and versatility to work over a wide range of projects and industries.
